Over the weekend of 15-16th June, seven members of the Bendigo Camera Club attended the Victorian Association of Photographic Societies Convention, based at Federation University, Berwick Campus. Members of different clubs (47 in total) came together to learn more about photography. There were presentations by guest speakers, workshops, and photographic excursions to participate in and of course interaction with members from other clubs. It was a great forum for exchanging ideas about the activities of other clubs, especially from all the chatter at the convention dinner. The presentations were inspiring and ranged from composites, images from Antarctica and photographing for mental wellbeing.
Our club entered 15 prints and 15 digital images. We are proud to announce that we came equal 4th out of 47 clubs in digital and equal 13th out of 40 clubs for prints. Even more exciting, our member Che Munzel was awarded first prize out of 692 digital images for her image “Basmati”.
