Market place – Tuesday May 11
On Tuesday night we will have a market place at the club rooms. Members are invited bring equipment they no longer need or want to sell or swap. Can members please undertake some research about what is an appropriate price for any items you want to sell. Please label your equipment with the price.
Whilst the market is on we will also be showing a selection of AVs from a few members. This is just for entertainment, not for competition. Tuesday May 11 is also the date when entries for the next print/digital competition are due. The set subject is rocks.
Activity night – Tuesday May 18
We will have a photo shoot at the club rooms with model/s. Lighting and other equipment will be provided. For members who use Canon or Nikon, there will be equipment that will be compatible with those cameras. Members who use other cameras, bring your flash, if you have one. All members should bring their fastest lens and you may want to bring a tripod, though that is not necessary, and obviously your camera.
Judging night – Tuesday June 8
We will have our 3rd print/digital judging night, set subject is Rocks. Entries are due on this date for the 2nd AV competition of the year.
June activity night and club dinner
The committee are working on the details for this activity night which will be held on June 15.
We will have a club dinner on Tuesday June 22. We have booked Tyson’s Reef Hotel at 6.30 for this social opportunity.
First aid response at club events
The committee is investigating the best approach to ensure we are equipped to respond to a medical emergency, that may occur at a club event. We want to ensure we have the capability to provide immediate care for members. The first step in this investigation process is to get a sense of which club members have first aid qualifications. If you have first aid quals can you please let Graeme know.
Bunnings fundraiser
Due to Covid, the club has not had an opportunity to run the usual fund-raising events, now for more than a year. We are planning a Bunnings sausage sizzle fundraiser for Saturday August 14. It will be at the Kangaroo Flat Bunnings and we will have the sausage sizzle going from 9.00 – 5.00. We wanted to let members know in plenty of time. We will start calling for volunteers in the coming months.
Photography competitions
The Australian Photography Cup is open for entries, closing on May 23. Entries are open to individuals and also to clubs. See the link below for details.
