April Activity Night Challenge – be inspired by a painting

Cheryl has kindly selected five classic pieces of art to inspire us for our activity night next month.

Below are a set of paintings numbered 1-5 with links to larger copies to download.

You are invited to choose any one of these paintings as inspiration for a photograph.

You are not asked to replicate the painting subject exactly but rather to draw on the painting’s visual elements, for example, its lighting, composition, colour, and/or approach to the subject.

If you wish, you can create a separate response (photograph) to each one of the paintings.

When you upload your photograph, please choose the number of the painting so we know which one you draw inspiration from.

Click here to view the upload page (and a copy of this information)
NOTE: you will need to be logged in or you will simply see a blank page

Uploads close Monday 16th March. We look forward to seeing what you come up with at the activity night on 17th March.

  2. ‘Woman Ironing’ by Edgar Degas
